Friday, July 3rd (rain date: Sunday, July 5th):

**Note that some activities could be modified due to the hot weather**

Ongoing activities starting at 5:00pm:
  • Our 12th annual food truck fair, featuring some of the Boston area's best food trucks​
  • Carnival games
  • Train rides from Roaming Railroad (a longtime Sharon Independence Day Celebration tradition)
  • Arts and Crafts tables provided by the Sharon Recreation Department
  • Photo Booth
  • Face Painting
  • Stilt walker from Circus Dynamics
  • #sharon4thewin Photo Contest (see our photo contest page for details)


5:00 pm      Childrens' Red, White, and Blue Parade - Paul Revere's Ride
  • The parade will travel on Beach St. from the corner of Pond St. to the bandstand. Line up at Beech Tree Park at 4:45. Feel free to bring a decorated bike, stroller, hobby horse, etc. Presented in collaboration with the Sharon Historical Society. The Historical Society will have a limited number of hobby horses available for children to use at the start of the parade - first come, first serve.

5:15 pm - 6:00 pm      Family Field Events
  • Enjoy fun, family games on the lawn, courtesy of the Sharon Recreation Department
  • ​Participating children will receive a frozen treat at the bandstand at the conclusion

6:15 pm - 7:15 pm - at the bandstand
  • Middlesex County Jr. Fife and Drum Corps performance
  • Reading of the Declaration of Independence - Gare Reid
  • Singing of the National Anthem - Sharon HS Junior Ava Canuto

6:30 pm - 8:30 pm - Animal World Experience, with 2 petting arenas featuring live reptiles and farm animals

7:15 pm - 9:15 pm - at the bandstand
  • Live music on the bandstand featuring the Darryl Hill Band

8:00 pm - 9:00 pm - near the food trucks
  • Fire Dancing show by Circus Dynamics (ongoing performances throughout the hour)
        
9:15 pm  (or earlier, weather depending)   Independence Day Finale – fireworks fired from barge on Lake Massapoag 
 
Please note that the Sharon Recreation Department typically does not allow swimming at the beach during the Celebration after 5 PM. 

Also, there is no parking at the beach at any time on July 3.
